CSL Attendance ("we", "our", or "us") is an internal attendance platform for teachers associated with Central Sanskrit University. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices available to users.

This policy applies to the CSL Attendance web and mobile applications operated for academic and administrative attendance management within Central Sanskrit University and its associated centers.

2. Who Can Use This Service

CSL Attendance is intended only for authorized teachers and administrative personnel associated with Central Sanskrit University. Public registration is not supported.

3. Information We Collect

• Account details: name, institutional email address, role, and assigned center information.
• Attendance records: check-in and check-out date/time, attendance status, and related center.
• Location data: GPS coordinates captured only when a user marks attendance, used for geofence verification.
• Security and operations data: authentication/session data and basic technical logs.

4. Why We Use Data

• To authenticate users and provide role-based access.
• To verify attendance at assigned centers using location radius validation.
• To generate attendance dashboards, monthly summaries, and administrative reports.
• To maintain system security, prevent misuse, and support troubleshooting.

5. Location Permission Use

The mobile app requests foreground location permission to validate teacher presence at assigned centers during check-in/check-out. Location is not collected for continuous tracking in the background.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data. Data may be accessible to authorized university administrators and technical service providers strictly for operating, securing, and maintaining CSL Attendance.

7. Data Retention

Attendance and account data are retained according to institutional and legal requirements. Data that is no longer required for operational, audit, or compliance purposes is deleted or anonymized where feasible.

8. Data Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including access controls and secure transport practices, to protect data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

9. User Rights and Requests

Users may request access, correction, or review of their account and attendance information through the university administration or designated system administrators, subject to institutional policy.

10. Children

CSL Attendance is an institutional workforce and administration tool and is not intended for use by children.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material updates will be reflected on this page with a revised last-updated date.
